ASTHMA RESEARCH STUDY
Investigational inhaled medication RESEARCH PROCEDURES: - Ages 12 and older with at least a 6 month history of asthma.
- Must be using an inhaled steroid such as:
Pulmicort Vanceril Advair Azmacort FloventAerobid - Must have no more than a 10-pack year history (1 pack a day for 10 years or ½ pack a day for 20 years etc.)
- Females of child bearing potential must be
using a medically accepted means of birth control.
- Must not have taken an investigational drug within 30 days of the screening visit.
RESEARCH PROCEURES: - Length: Approximately 14 weeks- 5 office visits- 3 are 12.5 hours long.
- The following procedures will be done at various times during the study:
Physical exam Medical history Lung function tests Laboratory tests
Electrocardiogram Health Questionnaire - Record asthma symptoms and peak flow readings in a diary twice daily.
- Compensation will be given for time and travel.
