Investigational inhaled medication RESEARCH PROCEDURES: - Ages 18 and older with a history of asthma.
- Must be using an inhaled steroid such as:
Pulmicort Vanceril Azmacort FloventAerobid - Must be a non-smoker for at least 6 months have no more than a 10-pack year history (1 pack a day for 10 years or ½ pack a day for 20 years etc.)
- Females of child bearing potential must be using a medically accepted means of birth control.
- Must not have taken a investigational drug within 30 days of the screening visit.
- Must not have had an upper respiratory infection or an
acute exacerbation of asthma within 30 days of the screening visit.
RESEARCH PROCEDURES: - Length: Approximately 3-4 months- 7 office visits
- The following procedures will be done at various times during the study:
Physical exam Medical history Lung function tests Laboratory tests - Record asthma symptoms and peak flow readings in a diary twice daily.
